Hallo! ¡Hola! Hello! Ola! Salut! Salam! Kaixo!
I am Anke, a girl born an raised in the countryside, surrounded by animals on my grandparents' farm and the endless fields of my hometown in the beautiful area of "het Pajottenland". Ever since I can remember, I've always felt great on my own, even though I crave deep connection. As a kid (I still am, a little), I've always loved to move my body, whether through sports or through hiking, biking, wandering... in nature. But my calm nature and sensitive side get balanced out by a sense of adventure and need to dig deep. Add a layer of need for freedom and a lot of passion for everything and everyone I love, y ya está! The person I am becoming is still taking shape.
the yoga
My yoga journey started in 2014. On a beautiful summer day, a close friend convinced me to join her for a yoga class. Sceptical at first, I gave it a try. Listen to wise friends who know you well! Because oh my, ever since yoga has been there to navigate me through life.
In 2018 I travelled through South-America, where I practised consistently. When I returned in 2019, I decided to embark on a yoga teacher training with Joachim Meire in Gent. I wanted to deepen my yoga practice, but mainly wanted to learn how to share the incredible benefits yoga has given me.
Soon, Billie Yoga offered me the great opportunity to teach my first yoga classes there. Ever since I have been teaching in and around Brussels. A few years later, I am grateful for all the wonderful teachers who inspired me to grow on my journey towards becoming a more skilled yoga teacher.
I have always been a sensitive person, and I love being close to the sea, mountains or forests. The elements, my teachers, nature, surf and my intuition guide me through my own practice and inspire me to create classes with connection, love and care.
the massages
The love for massage therapy grew in 2023, after the Savasana Bliss Teacher Training from RAAK RAAKT. Physically and energetically connecting with and caring for another body, had a meditative effect on me. Through warmth, kindness and consent, I love to use the skills I learned to support people calm down their nervous system.
